While Arc Raiders may seem like a typical Extraction shooter, the quest system adds significant depth to the game’s story. Beyond collecting loot on the Surface and destroying ARC robots, there are dozens of quests that challenge your raider to complete side objectives to advance the story.
“First Foothold” is one such quest, and before you can begin it, you’ll need to unlock the Blue Gate map by completing a total of 18 raids on any other map. Since this is the last map unlocked since the official release (Stella Montis doesn’t count), exploration in this location is significantly more challenging due to the large number of elite robots and the player perception of the location. Many players view it as a full-fledged PvP zone, and most of them use high-level gear.
Tip : If you’re attempting this quest alone , you can always go with free gear to avoid losing valuable items.
Where to find the church near the data warehouse
The first location you should visit as part of the “First Foothold” quest in Arc Raiders is the Data Vault. This area is located in the northern part of the region, roughly between Wanderer’s Peak and the village . You’ll see it on the map if you zoom in while exploring. Once the mission begins, open the map and be sure to set a marker to make it easier to find. Once you reach the Data Vault, you’ll notice a tall building with satellite dishes on the roof.
To complete the quest , you need to climb onto the first roof. This can be done by jumping onto a pile of crates and then onto the scaffolding on the side of the church. Once you’re on the roof, you’ll be asked to rotate the satellite dishes on the left. This will complete the data storage portion of the quest.
Where to find a viewing platform near the ridges
If you decide to continue the quest during the same run (and you don’t have to do it all in one session), the closest location after the Data Depot is the Ridge Mountains, which you can see on the eastern side of the map when zoomed in. The Ridge Mountains can be a bit tricky to navigate, but the lookout you’re looking for is fairly easy to find.
Once you reach the Ridges, you’ll see a large truck blocking the main road. Climb the small ledges behind the truck and you’ll see a structure with a yellow flag, resembling an antenna. Approach it and you’ll be able to stabilize the observation deck, completing the second part of this mission.
Where to find the communication terminal in the Olive Grove
After completing the Ridge mission, you can head to the Olive Grove, located in the southern part of the map. It’s northwest of the Ancient Fort, directly below the Control Point. To find the comm terminal, head there and then head slightly southwest of where the “Olive Grove” sign appears on the map.
Along the way, you’ll come across a structure with a clearly visible yellow terminal. To complete this part of the quest, simply approach and interact with the terminal.
Where to find the Raider structure in Trapper’s Glade
The final part of the “First Foothold” quest in Arc Raiders takes you to Trapper’s Glade, where you’ll need to find a raider structure and repair its roof. Trapper’s Glade is located in the western part of the Blue Gate map, directly below Raider’s Refuge. Once you’re there, you’ll find the structure just south of the “Trapper’s Glade” sign on the map.
Simply climb onto the raider’s hideout, and a yellow sign will appear with a button that will automatically repair the roof. This will complete the “First Foothold” quest, so you can return to Speranza for your reward. Extraction from the map is not required.
