FiveM is a platform for those who want to immerse themselves in the world of GTA Online mods and role-playing servers without risking a ban from Rockstar Games. Its user-hosted servers offer endless gameplay possibilities, from serious role-playing to fun adventures. To get started with FiveM, you’ll need to install it. Below is a simple guide on installing FiveM for GTA 5 on PC via Steam, Epic Games, and the Rockstar Launcher.
Important : FiveM currently does not support Grand Theft Auto 5: Enhanced. You will need to install it for Grand Theft Auto 5: Legacy Edition . Make sure you have this version of the game installed and running so FiveM can find the executable file.
How to install FiveM via Steam (GTA 5 Legacy)
- In your Steam library, right-click on Grand Theft Auto V Legacy.
- Select Manage, then Browse Local Files.
- Find the GTA5.exe file (it will simply be called GTA5).
- Right-click on the address bar at the top of the folder window.
- Select “Copy Address”.
- Go to the FiveM.net website and download the FiveM.exe client.
- Scroll through the license agreement and click “Sure, I Agree!”
- Run the downloaded FiveM.exe file from the Downloads folder.
- In the window that opens, right-click on the address bar and paste the path you copied earlier.
- Select the GTA5.exe file and click Open.
- Confirm updating the local game data by clicking “Yes”.
- Sign in to your Rockstar Games account and accept the terms of service.
- When asked to link your account to Cfx.re, select “Skip and don’t ask again” (this is only needed for rating and reviewing servers).
- Click “Play” to view the list of servers and choose the one that suits you!
How to install FiveM via the Epic Games Launcher (GTA 5 Legacy)
- In the Epic Games Launcher app, open your Library and filter by Installed.
- Find Grand Theft Auto V and click on the three dots next to the game.
- Select Manage, then click the folder icon under Installation.
- Find the GTA5.exe file.
- Copy the folder address from the address bar.
- Download the client from the FiveM.net website.
- Accept the terms of the agreement and run FiveM.exe.
- In the file selection window, paste the copied path and open GTA5.exe.
- Confirm the game data update.
- Log in to Rockstar Games and accept the terms.
- Skip linking your account to Cfx.re.
- Click “Play” to select a server!
