Since Kingdom Come: Deliverance II takes place in the Middle Ages, it’s only natural that when any unknown disease emerges, people immediately panic, fearing the return of the plague and another divine punishment. And in Sedlec Monastery, where you arrive during the Mysteria Ecclesiae expansion, mass hysteria will ensue. Fortunately, you’ve arrived with Dr. Albicus, the only voice of reason, attempting to solve the problem using scientific methods. But even if he recommends using protective measures against the deadly contagion, it’s definitely not a good idea to ignore the doctor’s advice.
How to find all the components for the Plague Hood
When it becomes clear that the source of the unknown illness is emanating from a crypt beneath the monastery, Albikus and his colleague Zakharyash will ask you to visit. Since they are doctors, not murderers, they will tell you about the precautions used during the plague to reduce the risk of infection. Specifically, a special hood and mask with a filter made of herbs and aromatic oil.
As a result, you will find out that in addition to the oil itself, to make this medical equipment you will need:
- Rope;
- Any piece of leather or hide;
- 8 units of mint or sage.
How to find mint and sage
As you can see, I already had some mint. There’s plenty of it in the cabinets in the alchemy room and Albicus’s room, which are located right here in the monastery’s infirmary.
Sage can also be obtained nearby by searching one of the open chests near the sick.

But, looking ahead, for the essential oil you will also need valerian and chamomile, so you will still have to do some gardening, but more on that later.
How to find a rope

Please note that by this time, the monastery will be under quarantine and it will no longer be possible to move freely outside the hospital.

Therefore, even knowing from the mark that rope can be obtained at the construction site in the main cathedral, you will not be able to simply go there due to regular patrols and guards.

To avoid crawling on all fours through the corridors, the easiest way is to climb inside using the scaffolding at the northern entrance.

The main thing on the way from the hospital is to sneak unnoticed on all fours behind the guard’s back under the canopy.

Basically, to the right of the cathedral entrance there is scaffolding with an inconspicuous staircase leading to a window opening through which one can enter the temple, bypassing security.

After this, you will be able to easily reach the point marked on the map above and pick up the rope lying on the floor.

Yes, there are a few more ropes to be found here, but for some reason you can only pick up this one and another one that is lying right next to the guard near the hole in the floor, so I didn’t even try to get to it.
How to find leather or hide

As for the skin, I found it right here, not far from the stairs at the northern entrance to the cathedral, when I was searching the tents on an optional assignment to interrogate the workers.

If you have a master key (unlike weapons and armor, they don’t confiscate them at the monastery entrance), you can pick the easy lock on the chest in the tent and take a cowhide and something else valuable from there, if you’re not afraid of a little sin.
And if you don’t have any lock picks, there’s a large white roll of pigskin lying right here between the stove bench and the cauldron. That’ll work, too.

It’s possible to get leather in other places, but at least this one is lying around without being watched or having to pick locks.
How to find a fragrance oil recipe

Once you’ve collected all the components for the Plague Mask, head to the monastery library in the south wing.

This information can also be obtained from librarian Crispin, but let’s assume that you accidentally came to the place indicated in the screenshot above and decided to read the book on the pulpit.
Scroll through until you find the entry about disease protection oil.
This is how you will learn the recipe for essential oil, which requires:
- 3 daisies
- 1 sage
- 1 valerian
Pick a lot of sage right away, as you’ll need another 8 for the plague hood.

All of this can be found in the forest gardens, of which there are many scattered throughout the monastery grounds. They are marked with a corresponding flower-shaped icon.

To save you the trouble of running around, in the screenshot above we’ve marked the exact bed where all the necessary plants for making essential oils grow.

You already know about the alchemy table in the hospital, where you can find all the necessary equipment for potion brewing .
How to Make Essential Oil

In fact, all you need to do is follow the detailed instructions in the recipe itself.
Since I cooked something 3 times throughout the game and still got it right the first time, it means you can do it too.
The only caveat is that in the recipe book for some reason it is called “Flying Oil.”
Simply place the sage, chamomile, and valerian from your inventory on the left shelf. From the right shelf, take the oil to pour into the cauldron and cook for the specified number of hourglass turns.
The main thing is not to confuse which flowers need to be crushed and which ones should be left whole, and don’t forget to lift the pot from the heat so that the broth doesn’t boil over.
Once you’ve completed all the steps outlined in the recipe, pour the brew into the bottle located at the bottom left of the cauldron, and a congratulatory message should appear on your screen.
It doesn’t matter whether the potion you get is strong or not.
How to make a plague hood

At the final stage, nothing special is required of you – just go to the next table in the alchemy room and press the interaction key.
Next, select from your inventory a rope, leather or hide, 8 units of mint or sage and essential oil, and your plague doctor outfit is ready.
Now you can wear a plague hood instead of a headdress and no infection will scare you.
Keep in mind that this isn’t just a precaution, and it’s best to remember to wear this hood, especially in underground areas and around corpses, otherwise Henry will start coughing and might even end up in the infirmary himself, which will waste your precious time.
