Digital Foundry has compiled a list of the games with the best graphics in 2025, ranking them from last to first.
- Honorable mentions were given to Nintendo Switch 2 games , both ports and exclusives. These included exclusives Mario Kart World, Kirby Air Riders, and Fast Fusion, ports from Panic Button studios like Doom Eternal and Warframe , and a port of Star Wars Outlaws , which features a high-quality DLSS implementation and adds the only hardware-based ray tracing to the Switch 2 this year .
- Dying Light: The Beast came in tenth place for its lighting effects, which look equally good in complete darkness, even with flashlights. The game’s weak console port was cited as a problem.
- Side-scroller Earthion lands in ninth place thanks to how effectively it squeezes every last drop of juice out of its target platform.
- Ghost of Yotei takes eighth place – the game uses ray-traced global illumination, shows off large-scale landscapes and dense vegetation.
- Mafia: The Old Country is in seventh place – the developers managed to master Unreal Engine 5 , realizing an excellent level of landscape detail and high geometry density.
- Metroid Prime 4 is in sixth place – the project received high-quality lighting, and also runs at 60 fps on Switch 1, and can even run at 120 fps on Switch 2.
- Routine, in fifth place, combines unique retro-futuristic art design with highly detailed environments.
- Silent Hill f was awarded fourth place – the game is rich in detail, and numerous environmental objects look realistic thanks to competent lighting.
- Death Stranding 2 : On The Beach opens the top three – the game impresses with its high level of detail on both the macro and micro levels, from global landscapes to the smallest details of the environment.
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows received a Silver Medal for its high-quality implementation of ray-traced global illumination, destructible object physics , wind simulation, and hair imitation.
- Doom: The Dark Ages took the lead – the game not only showcases beautiful ray-traced graphics , but also runs perfectly on any hardware.
