ARC Raiders Guide: How to Find and Use All Keys

Most keys can be found by searching drawers, cabinets, and containers in a variety of locations. These typically involve landmarks on maps, such as Ruby’s Residence or the “Research and Administration” section of the Dam Battlefield. Some keys can also be obtained by completing specific quests. In this guide, we’ll explain how to find all the keys available in ARC Raiders and how to use them correctly.

Some of the best gear in ARC Raiders is locked behind special doors that can only be opened with keys, but finding the keys themselves is no easy task. They drop rarely and are needed to open rooms or areas where valuable loot is hidden. Some can be obtained through exploration, while others may need to be crafted or looted from enemies. Knowing where to find these keys and what they unlock will save you time and help you acquire rare gear as quickly as possible.

Raider hatch key

To get a Raider Hatch Key in ARC Raiders, you have two main options: buy one or craft one yourself. If you prefer to buy one, head to Shani, the security system merchant in Speranza. She sells Raider Hatch Keys for 9,000 coins. This is the quicker method, but only if you’re willing to fork over the in-game currency.

To craft a key, you’ll first need to install a tool bench in the Workshop. Crafting it will require a certain amount of ARC alloys, but the investment is well worth it, as it can be used to craft all sorts of useful equipment needed during missions. The Raider Hatch Key can also be obtained in the missions “Hatch Repair,” “Mixed Signal,” “Our Presence Above,” and “Triad.”

After installing the Tool Workbench, you can craft the Raider Hatch Key. Make sure you have one Advanced Electrical Component and three Sensors. However, keep in mind that some items, including the Raider Hatch Key, require you to upgrade your Workbench to level 2.

How to use the Raider Hatch Key

When you open the map, you’ll see several extraction points marked on it. Some of them will be marked with a small downward-facing arrow; these are called raider hatches. Unlike regular extraction points, using a raider hatch won’t alert other players nearby, making it a much safer way to escape the mission.

To use the hatch, simply approach it and interact with it while holding the Raider Hatch Key. Keep in mind that this method provides slightly fewer bonus experience points than using the elevator, and also consumes one Raider Hatch Key for each extraction performed this way (or, more accurately, for opening the hatch itself, as you may be eliminated during the extraction).

Key to the dam observation room

Once you have the key, head to the Control Tower on the Dam Battleground map, right next to it, and you’ll see a locked door that requires the Dam Staff Room Key. You can also obtain the Dam Control Tower Key by completing the “Triad” quest. Since it’s a random item, you’ll need to search every available location and hope for a drop.

Approach the Control Tower entrance on the Dam Battleground map and use the item to open it and enter the building. This key grants access to the Control Tower. This is typically a high-risk area, so expect to find valuable rewards or quest-related items.

From the entrance, turn left and follow the path until you reach an elevator with a zipline leading up. Climb up, exit the elevator shaft, and turn right. You’ll see a locked door that you can open with the Dam Control Tower Key. Inside, you’ll encounter several turrets, so be careful. Before leaving, be sure to check all the lockers, drawers, and containers, and collect any loot lying on the floor.

Dam Test Room Key

The Dam Test Room Key doesn’t have a fixed spawn point, but you’ll most likely find it in the Research and Administration building. You can stumble upon it while searching almost any container, and it can even spawn outside of the Dam Battleground map, though it’s primarily associated with that location.

Once you’ve obtained the key, head to the southeast corner of the Dam Battlefield map—that’s where the test room is located. Enter through the main entrance and continue forward. Eventually, you’ll reach a large steel door with a panel on the side. You’ll also receive the Dam Test Room Key for completing the “Terrain” quest.

The Dam Test Room Key opens two different locked doors inside the “Test Room” building. Once you have the key, head to the designated building and enter through the door on the first floor. Go inside and you’ll find a locked door that requires the Dam Test Room Key. Use the item to open the door, and you’ll find various loot inside.

There’s a second door in this same building that can be opened with the same key. You’ll need a second set, though. From the first door, turn right and follow the corridor until you see another locked door. Use the Dam Test Room Key again to open it and collect the loot. Again, the key can only be used on one door. So, if you want to open both, you’ll need two Dam Test Room Keys.

The key to the spaceport trench tower

If you’re looking for the Cosmodrome Trench Tower Key, the best place to look is Ruby’s Residence on the Dam Battleground map. The item can often be found nearby or even inside the building. If you don’t find it there, try searching the Research and Administration building as well—these are the closest and most accessible locations. The key doesn’t have a fixed spawn point, so search in all available locations.

Once you have the key, head to the North Trench Tower. Climb to the very top of the structure and you’ll see a blue staircase on the left. Climb it and you’ll find a locked door that can only be opened with the Spaceport Trench Tower Key.

The Starport Container Storage Key opens one of the locked rooms in the Conveyor Storage building on the Starport map. Inside, you’ll find several crates containing loot. Once you have the key, head to the Starport map and find the Container Storage building.

Climb the stairs to the top floor, where you’ll see a locked red door. Open it with the key to access a storage area filled with red lockers, many of which contain weapons, accessories, and even quest items.

The key to the spaceport control tower

You won’t find this key in the Cosmodrome itself; it appears on the Dam Battleground map and in random locations. The best place to look for it is inside the Ruby Residence building. The key appears in random locations, but this building has the highest chance of finding it. Ruby Residence is located in the northeastern part of the Dam Battleground, next to the Hydroponic Dome complex. Be sure to check this building after opening it, as the second floor contains valuable resources and other items, such as an epic weapon, a speaker component, gas cylinders, duct tape, cloth, and more.

You will also receive the Buried City City Hall Key for completing the quest “Our Presence Above.”

Just remember that this key, like all others, is single-use. Once you open one door, it disappears, so to unlock the others, you’ll need to find other Buried City Master Keys.

JKV employee access card in the Buried City

You can find the JKV Employee Access Keycard in Ruby’s Residence on the Dam Battlefield map. It doesn’t spawn in one location, meaning it’s entirely randomly generated. These keys are often found in residential buildings, so be sure to check drawers, cabinets, and shelves carefully.

You can also find it in the Research and Administration building, especially on the second floor—it’s a great place to find most of the keys. Just search all the cabinets in this area, and you might be lucky enough to find one. This is a PvP zone, as the hospital is also located nearby . So, be prepared for other raiders, who may not be as friendly.

There are two ways to get up: by stairs or by zipline, but either way, you need to get to the fourth floor. The door you need is in the hallway on this level; you can even jump off the nearby ledge.
